Our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita
It is no surprise that I was going to stay in another Four Seasons property after my incredible stay at the Four Seasons Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. So when I was planning our winter getaway to Mauritius and I realised that the Four Seasons in Mauritius was to be re-opened late 2025, I knew I needed a few days there. Our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita was nothing short of incredible and I will tell you all about it.
You see, the Four Seasons know how to combine stunning aesthetics and family friendly without compromising on luxury. For me, these are the things I look for when booking a hotel. As you drive into the Anahita complex, you can tell what kind of stay you are about to have.
First Impressions of Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita
It is beautiful and just looks so well designed. Think straight out of a magazine beautiful; yet not at all pretentious if that makes sense. We got to the hotel at about midday and had the concierge meet us at the entrance which I thought was lovely. We had welcome drinks, cold towels to cool off and a quick check in. Usual check in time is 3pm but thankfully our room was ready when we arrived which was very much appreciated after a 12 hour flight.
I would describe it as incredibly chic; it felt like nature was brought inside and represented all around the hotel. A real tropical paradise which you’d imagine when you think of Mauritius.

Our room at Four Seasons Mauritius
All rooms in the resort are ground level, standalone pool villas with al fresco showers. This meant that every room felt secluded and intimate.
We stayed in room 140; a one bedroom pool villa which overlooked the beach. To describe it better, you walk out of the room and unto the porch, then next is the pool. As you walk further on, it opens on to the beach. Four Seasons Mauritius sits on its own beach and walking out of our room gave direct access to the beach. So for us, it felt like a 2 for one room – pool and beach access in one.
One bedroom Beach Pool villa

This room is perfect for 2 adults and 1 child. I’m sure it can comfortably sleep 2 small children but it is advertised for 2 adults, 1 child. The huge king sized bed was perfect for Mr E & I; then the sofa bed which opened up to a small double was where our 3 year old slept.
My favourite part in the bathroom was the al fresco shower; which was technically not outdoor but had glass doors. It was a clever take on outdoor showers. Standing in the shower still gave that tropical illusion but the glass barrier gave some sense of protection from creepy crawlers lol.
The bath was huge and in true FS style, the toiletries were by luxury French perfume house, Diptyque. Like I said, a perfect blend of luxury and beautiful aesthetics.
I always appreciate a “his and hers” sink situation as it automatically allows more space; which is very much appreciated when travelling with kids. Our room was just so lovely and big and it made our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius just exceptional.
Kid’s Club
My daughter is a kid’s club girl. Even from when she was only 2 years old, she has always wanted to go to the kids play area. I guess that’s what you get when your child is a nursery/preschool bubba.
At Four Seasons Mauritius, the kid’s club is called “Hobbit Village” and it is a beautiful space of its own. We took her there on the 2nd day of our trip and she did not want to leave. There’s a mini splash pool, an arts and crafts room, a cooking room (where they make pizzas) and an outdoor play area. It was very impressive. Kids from 4 years old are welcome; however, they were fine with us dropping our 3 year old off since she’s potty trained and it was a few weeks to her 4th birthday.

Kid’s Club at Four Seasons Mauritius
I thought it was such a beautiful space that was well thought out for kids. Lowered sinks, mini toilets and lowered table tops – just perfect for little explorers. They also have a weekly time table which each family is given at the beginning of their stay so it gave us an idea of what exactly she’d be doing daily.
I can imagine that Hobbit Village comes in really handy on rainy days. Even though our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius in February barely had any rainy day.
There is also a Teens club. It had video games and activities teenagers would be interested in.
Things we loved about Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita
The General Pool
While we had a pool villa, we also loved hanging out by the general pool as it was such a vibe. I’d say it was the focal point of the hotel as it was just off the breakfast restaurant. I loved that it never felt busy at all. Plus the pool is so pretty. It overlooks the beach and the cabanas give a very south of France beach club vibe which I adored.
Let me just say that it was aesthetics heaven; beautiful from any point you turned (& snapped). There was a fresh coconut stand which I indulged in, an ice cream mini truck which Adanna loved and of course, the bar was available to order anything to the pool. Just a total vibe and I must add that it was all so family friendly yet romantic. It might have been my favourite spot in the hotel, apart from our villa.
The Staff
The place where everyone knows your name. I always say that having kind staff is what sets your business apart from others. We have stayed in a good number of luxury hotels in our time and the FS brand do something spectacular with the staff they hire. This was no different in FS Mauritius. Throughout our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita, everywhere we went, staff was so friendly especially to Adanna and they all knew her name. It just makes you feel a little more special doesn’t it?!
Direct beach access
It seemed like no matter where you were in the resort, there was a beach a few steps away. There was the “activity beach” where all the water activities and boat rides started from. Then there was the “quiet beach” which was for chilling and relaxing. It just felt nice to have the beach nearby all the time and made it harder to leave the resort.
Restaurants in Four Seasons Mauritius
Our booking was on a half board basis which meant that breakfast and dinner were served in one of the many restaurants. For our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita, I made sure to reserve each restaurant early so that we got to experience as many as possible.
Chaloupe
This was the breakfast restaurant where we had breakfast everyday. The spread was like no other breakfast buffet we have ever been to. Ok, maybe with the exception of Four Seasons in Sharm el Sheikh. But back to our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius.
Chaloupe had different areas and rooms for different things. There was a room that had fruits, cheese, bread etc. Then the egg station where whatever eggs we wanted were made. My favourite was the waffle and pancake station which served all varieties of pancakes and waffles with every topping imaginable.

Chaloupe Restaurant for breakfast
Then, a juice bar which Adanna loved since she got a special cup for her apple juice. My go to every morning was the fresh juice station where my combo was made from scratch – spinach, green apples and watermelon – I had to get the greens in somehow!
Chaloupe also served mediterranean lunch and quick bites all day so we would often have a light meal during the day from the restaurant.
Ti Pwason
The Mauritian seafood restaurant on the beach was a delight. It was our restaurant of choice on our first night and what a fantastic welcome. We ordered the seafood platter for 2 which had lobster, huge prawns, fish, calamari and octopus. It came with 2 sides of mash and coconut rice.

Ti Pwason – Kids Mediterranean Menu
There was live music which I absolutely loved and even sang along (& I danced on my chair). I really enjoyed dining here for our first night and it was a great introduction to what the food situation at Four Seasons Mauritius would be.
Awase
On our 2nd night we decided to try the Japanese inspired, pan-Asian restaurant, Awase. Since we aren’t particularly foodies, I asked the waiter for help with our order and his suggestions were perfect.
Awase – Japanese Dining

We had the soft shell crab and prawns to start; for mains, we had sea bass and pork belly. Then some prawn sushi on the side and for Adanna, it was a noodle, egg and chicken stir fry off the kids menu. My mocktail was a delicious Ogasawara which had passion fruit, lime and soda in it. Our evening here was such a delight and its location is gorgeous as well; sitting on a river deck which gives a very romantic aesthetic for dining.
Radici
If there is a place serving pasta, you already know we will be there. Radici is the contemporary Italian restaurant and we booked it for dinner on our 3rd night. In keeping to theme with the other restaurants, it was in yet another stunning location, almost like it was floating on the river. The food was lush; Mr E and I had seafood spaghetti (his was cream based, mine was tomato based) and our daughter had pizza. Of course I had a slice of that too.

Radici – Italian dining
Angara
Our final night, it was time for Indian food and Angara was perfect. The welcome here was 10/10. As we walked in, we were greeted by staff who asked if it was ok to have bindi on our forehead. Adanna and I picked yellow and we were decorated with it.
We were shown our seats, menus were presented and we ordered our meals. Mr E had the fish curry and I had the lamb chops; we both had coconut rice for sides. Adanna had some rice and butter chicken off the children’s menu. At the end of our wonderful meal, we were given bracelets; just the cutest surprise.
Angara – Indian cuisine

I don’t think I can pick a favourite tbh. As someone who loves seafood and spaghetti, Ti Pwason and Radici were the 2 I was most excited for. However, Awase’s location and Angara’s hospitality knocked it out the park for us.
In-room dining
Like most parents will tell you, sometimes you just want to avoid the hassle of restaurant dining. For us, the first meal of most trips, we tend to order room service. We were tired from the travel and even though we were sleepy, we were quite hungry.
For our 3 year old, I ordered the home made chicken nuggets and fries off the kids menu. For Mr E & I, it was a chicken and prawn curry with rice. Everything tasted really flavourful and I liked that we had the choice to eat on our terrace as we watched the beach in the distance.
The best family friendly things to do at Four Seasons Mauritius
Water Activities
Four Seasons in Mauritius offered some motorised water activities for free and I loved that even kids were included. There was a pedalo and of course, kayaks one could borrow. One activity I would have loved to try was a swim to see the seahorses. However since I STILL cannot swim, I chickened out of this one. Snorkel equipments were available for guests who were interested in snorkelling. I liked that there was a stand dedicated to enquiring about whatever water sport you are interested in. The guides were knowledgable enough to give advice on what was suitable or not.
Private Island – Île aux Cerfs
Since Four Seasons had their own private beach on the gorgeous, île aux cerfs, we decided to check it out. It was our 2nd time visiting the island but this time as residents of the hotel so of course, this experience was extra lush. The boat ride from the hotel’s beach to île aux cerfs beach is about 15 minutes. We docked directly on the beach and were greeted by staff who showed us to around as we settled in.
It was such a lovely afternoon and I have written all about it.

Boat ride to Grand River South East waterfall
Our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita included this hour long activity which I think is just enough adventure for children. We were picked up from the hotel’s dock and our skipper told us to let him know if we thought he was going too fast which was very kind of him. After the most beautiful 20 mins of sailing, we arrived at the waterfall and it was just the most gorgeous sight. Waterfalls will never seize to amaze me.
Our skipper explained that the water was from the rainfall and it finds its way to the sea from there. Its location is basically where the river meets the sea. On our way back, we spotted lots of monkeys. Apparently, they are not vicious but I was ok to observe from afar lol.
There are so many more activities but these were the 3 we experienced.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Four Seasons Mauritius child friendly?
Four Seasons Mauritius is incredibly child friendly. In typical Four Seasons fashion, they had a children’s robe and slippers waiting for Adanna – she always loves this. Then, on her bed, a surprise was waiting for her. She was gifted some hair pins and a back pack for her adventures.
All restaurants had their own kids’ menu specific to the cuisine which I though was brilliant. These menus were also activity books which kids could colour while they waited for their meals. I loved that in areas where drinks were served, they had special cups for kids.
The main pool was literally perfect and depth-friendly for kids and there were just so many touches that made the hotel perfect for families. There were lots of families around as well and you could tell the children were all loving it.
Is Four Seasons Mauritius good value for money?
There is no doubt that the Four Seasons hotels are under the super premium luxury category. It is the 2nd hotel I’ve stayed in from this chain and I can promise you that it is great value for your money. We felt so special from the minute we stepped into the hotel until we left. From the incredible customer service to the vibes of the hotel to just the general ambiance, it was obvious that customer experience was very important to them.
Our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita
The great thing about revisiting a country that you have extensively explored before is that this time, there is no guilt for lazying around in the hotel. Our stay at the Four Seasons Mauritius at Anahita was just the perfect trip with our daughter for a break from our hectic work schedules and a slice of sunshine in paradise. It is the kind of place that you splurge and feel very confident that you will get your money’s worth in every way possible. Is this my last time in a Four Seasons hotel? You already know the answer to this.
Until my next Four Seasons stay….
Bisous, Bugo x
